As weather forecasters promised, heavy snowfalls have swept over Transcarpathian region, which led to some accidents in the region.
Thus, due to slush build-up, 7 trees fell on the roadways and yards in Irshava, Mukachevo, Svalyava districts and the city of Vynogradiv
Rescuers also provided assistance to drivers of vehicles who could not overcome difficult road sections due to ice cover. In general, as of 09:30 on January 2, rescue units assisted in freeing 4 vehicles in Mizhhirya district, as well as in the villages of Vorochevo and Likitsary in Perechyn district. At present, there are no traffic congestions or restrictions on the highways and passes of Transcarpathia. 58 vehicles and 67 employees were involved in road clearing.
In addition (as of 09:30 January 02), 41 settlements (12 in full and 29 in part) in Khust, Irshava, Tyachiv and Vynogradiv districts have no electricity supply. Repair crews are working at the sites.
