Interactive presentation: two children’s books by Transcarpathian authors have been released

On Tuesday, December 18, new children’s books – Volodymyr Fedynyshynets’s "Pencil Brothers" and Olga Tymofiyeva’s "About animals for children" – were presented in the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. For the second year in a row, new children’s books are released in the region on St. Nicholas Day.

– Transcarpathia has been and remains one of the few regions where the Program of the support for the publication of works by local authors is being implemented, – Yaroslav Halas, the deputy head of the regional state administration, emphasized during the presentation. – This year, in cooperation with five publishers, 17 books have been published under the Program, including two books for children.

This was not the first presentation of new books in the regional administration, but the first one in an interactive format. Along with with the authors and publishers, the event was attended by those for whom this good and positive literature is created. While adults were talking about the content of the published works, the pupils of Uzhgorod Children’s Arts School drew the "speakers".   An the children’s poems "About animals for children" were reenacted in a dramatized miniature by pupils of Uzhgorod secondary school №1.

The creation and popularization of children’s literature is an important mission of the adults, the director of the "Karpaty" Publishing House Viktor Braslavets says.

The Program of the support for the publication of works by local authors, the popularization of Transcarpathian books and promotion of book distribution is planned until the end of 2020.

– I am convinced that in the future it will be extended, as it is one of the best programs, which is financed from the regional budget, – Yaroslav Halas said.
The Department of Information and Relations of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration urged authors and publishers to intensify their cooperation, so that next year, residents of the region would have the opportunity to read the new works by their talented fellow countrymen. And the presented books in the near future will be on the shelves of Transcarpathian libraries, cultural and educational institutions.
