Charity run "Run to help" took place in Uzhgorod on Teatralna Square. The sporting event was dedicated to St. Nicholas Day, which will be celebrated on December 19th. By the way, this race is organized for the second year in a row.
More than two hundred Uzhgorod citizens – both athletes and amateurs – gathered to take a run in the snow-covered city. According to the organizers, the participants were actively registering online even on the day before. The youngest participant is 7 years old, and the oldest one is more than 50. The deputy of Uzhgorod city mayor Oleksandr Bilak also took part in the race.
Every participant could choose a category: "I am a philanthropist" or "I am an athlete". The former ran one lap over 2 km, while the latter (more prepared) ran the distance of more than 6 km. The organizers from the Uzhhorod Running Club awarded the top ten men and women. The best runners were presented with symbolic gifts and medals.
This year, funds were raised for the treatment of Natalia Marfidin. According to preliminary information, they have already raised more than 10 thousand hryvnias, but the count is still ongoing.
