Emergency repair crews are now working at the scene, trapholes have been dug in the contaminated area, the oil is pumped into tanker trucks. The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yaroslav Halas told the Ukrainian TV channel about the causes and consequences of depressurization. He reported that the cause of the accident was an unauthorized tie-in for stealing crude oil.

The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration told that the accident was detected at about 4 am because the pressure in the pipe dropped. Now, the polluted area is 150 meters. Fortunately, the leak occurred in the field, there are no bodies of water or residential buildings nearby, so there will be no serious consequences. Yaroslav Halas believes that by the evening the accident will be remedied and transportation of oil will be resumed.
