The number of cleared cars at the Transcarpathian customs is growing – already 215

As of today, December 4, 2018, 215 cars, which are allowed to be cleared in accordance with the Law of Ukraine of November 8, 2018, No. 2612-VIII, have been cleared at the Transcarpathian Customs.

The most frequently imported car brands were SKODA and VOLKSWAGEN. Almost UAH 148 thousand was paid for the customs clearance of these cars, saving more than UAH 100 thousand, because citizens took advantage of the grace period on imposition of the excise tax, which is 90 days from the enactment of the said Law. That is, if the customs clearance of these cars was carried out after the 90 days of grace, citizens would have had to pay UAH 100 thousand more.

It should be noted that yesterday, at the customs post "Mukachevo" of the Transcarpathian Customs, the first customs clearance of cars in the "transit" mode was carried out. A total of 9 such cars were cleared, and their owners, in addition to the usual customs duties, paid a voluntary contribution to the state budget in the amount equal to five hundred tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 8,500) for non-observance of the terms and conditions of temporary import or transit. The invoice cost of these cars was EUR 10 thousand, customs payments to the budget amounted to UAH 459 thousand.

As is known, before the enactment of the Law of Ukraine of November 8, 2018, No. 2612-VIII, only cars conforming to the environmental standards EURO 5 were allowed to be cleared. Now, this provision has been canceled, but it is necessary to submit documents confirming the conformance to the environmental standards for used vehicles EURO 2 or higher.
