This was announced on December 1 by the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Pavlo Klimkin.
Previously, Baltazhy was Ukraine’s Ambassador to Bulgaria.
Klimkin reminded that on November 26 in Kyiv, the deputy ministers of foreign affairs of Ukraine and Hungary discussed issues of cooperation regarding Hungarian assistance in the development of Transcarpathia.
"At these consultations, our new commissioner for cross-border cooperation personally met his Hungarian counterparts. The next week, they will meet again in Budapest," – the Foreign Minister said.
"Autumn in Ukrainian-Hungarian relations was extremely emotional… Hungarian declarations of unwillingness to cooperate with the Ukrainian authorities led us to the moment when the red line seemed to have been crossed. But even in the most difficult situations, we kept common sense and were doing what we needed to do – looking for points of contact. Recent meetings give hope that our efforts were not in vain," – Klimkin said.
