Transcarpathian foresters promise to switch from continuous to selective felling (INFOGRAPHICS)

The Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Range Administration developed a felling dynamics infographics.

As noted by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Range Administration Valeriy Murha, today one of the main areas of Transcarpathian foresters’ work is the switch from continuous felling to the selective cutting method. 
As a result, forest managers switch to the selective method of wood harvesting, even though there is not enough money and necessary technologies that exist in Europe.

It should be noted that this process also takes a considerable time. Avoiding continuous felling contributes to the preservation of forests and their rational use.

It is worth noting that according to the data of infographics, during the past three years the harvesting volume has significantly decreased.
