Slovakia will extradite to Ukraine one of the former leaders of the Transcarpathian “Right sector” (PHOTOS)

The Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic Gabor Gal (party Most-Hid) on Tuesday November 6 signed the decision on the extradition of Volodymyr Hlasner, who is suspected of terrorism and other serious crimes in Ukraine.

Since all legal requirements for the extradition of this citizen to Ukraine were fulfilled, and he himself agreed to it, my role was very simple. I just signed the documents, – the Minister Gal said.

The former leader of the Transcarpathian "Right sector", Volodymyr Hlasner, had a permanent residence in Kosice and was arrested by the Slovak police at the request of the Ukrainian branch of the Interpol. He was detained on June 18, 2018.

On July 20, Ukraine requested his extradition.

The warrant for his arrest was issued on suspicion of committing various serious crimes: intentional infliction of bodily harm, threats of murder, hostage-taking, banditry, terrorism, attacks on public officials and other crimes.

The man faces a prison sentence of up to 15 years for these crimes.

It should be noted that the detainee refused to pleed guilty and called himself a journalist. Instead, in Ukraine, he is known as an ex-spokesman and one of the leaders of the "Right sector" in Transcarpathian region.

Earlier, the Slovak court dismissed the request of Hlasner’s sister, who wanted to bail him out. In addition, the court refused to put him under house arrest in the presence of a law enforcement representative.
