In the village of Neresnytsia, Tyachiv district, a pedestrian was killed by a car driven by a drunk driver. The police arrested the perpetrator and initiated an investigation.
Yesterday, on October 14, the Dubove Police Department received from a paramedic a report of a road accident with victims in the village of Neresnytsia, Tyachiv district, near the local gas station.
Having arrived at the scene of the accident, the investigation group of the Dubove police found out that a car "Opel Astra" with foreign registration, driven by a 22-year-old resident of the village of Vilkhivtsi, Tyachiv district, drove onto the oncoming traffic lane and hit a pedestrian – a 40-year-old resident of Vilkhivtsi. Then the car drove into the ditch and ran into a fence.
The victim died on the spot. The driver suffered minor bodily injuries, and an ambulance took him to the Tyachiv hospital. It turned out that the young man was in a state of intoxication, 0.49 ppm of alcohol was found in his blood.
The police began the investigation into the fatal accident. The perpetrator was arrested in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. He was notified about being suspected of committing a criminal offense, stipulated in Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules, which caused the death of the victim). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 3 to 8 years.
