The bishop residence invites to the Open Door Day (ANNOUNCEMENT)

The bishop residence will be opened for visits on September 27 from 15.00 to 18.00

It has already become a good tradition to hold an Open Door Day in the landmark architectural and historical monument of Transcarpathia, the residence of bishops of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese. Since the end of the eighteenth century, Greek Catholic bishops have been living and working here. And now the office of the Mukachevo Greek-Catholic diocese is located here.

On September 27, on the Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, an Open Door Day will be held in the bishop residence near the Uzhgorod Cathedral. Everyone will be able to see not only the place where current bishops Milan and Nil work and live, but also the bishop chapel painted by Yosyp Bokshay, the consistorial hall for celebrations with baroque paintings, the collection paintings presented to the diocese, the gallery-corridor with historical photographs, the crypt, where the bishops are buried.

In addition, there will be a concert of of students of the Uzhgorod Theological Academy named after The Blessed Theodore Romzha.

The festive Archbishop’s Divine Liturgy will be held in the Uzhgorod Cathedral at 9.30.
