The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree "On Decoration with State Awards of Ukraine on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine". The list of award recipients includes five residents of Transcarpathia.
By a separate decree "On Decoration with State Awards of Ukraine", for personal courage and selfless actions in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky to a number of servicemen, including – posthumously – senior lieutenant Olkhovsky Heorhiy, commander of the mountain assault company of the 15th Battalion of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade, who died heroically on August 23.
Also, for a significant personal contribution to the state building, socio-economic, scientific and technical, cultural and educational development of Ukraine, significant labor achievements and high professionalism, the honorary title "Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine" was awarded to MADYAR-NOVAK Vira – teacher of the higher educational institution "Uzhgorod Music College" of the Transcarpathian Regional Council.
Honorary title "Honored Forester of Ukraine" was awarded to PAPARYHA Stepan – the forester of Hoverla forestry of the state enterprise "Rakhiv Forest Research Farm".
Honorary title "Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine" was awarded to SOCHKA Vasyl – artist of applied art.
Honorary title "Honored Worker of Transport of Ukraine" was awarded to ROMANYUK Ivan – General Director of the "ZakarpatEuroTrans" Company.
Honorary title "Honored Artist of Ukraine" was awarded to BABYNETS Yosyp – painter.
