The state border is tightly guarded during the holidays

Hundreds of border patrols are on duty during the celebrations of the main holiday of the state – the 27th anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informs. To prevent provocations, border guards keep contacts with the National Police, the National Guard, the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine. Officials of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine tightened security both at the state border and at checkpoints on the separation line in the area of ​​the Joint Forces operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. To ensure order, border guards are constantly monitoring the current situation. Persons and vehicles are carefully inspected on the border. Dogs are involved in the inspections in order to prevent illegal transportation of weapons and explosives. In total about 30 thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – including border guards, police officers, national guardsmen and representatives of the State Emergencies Service – are involved in ensuring public order during the celebration of the Independence Day.
