Today, the city officials handed Natalia Yakubik, director of the "AVE Uzhhorod" LLC, complaints about untimely and improper cleaning of the city, the Uzhgorod City Council reported. At the meeting, it was noted that the garbage is removed with significant deviation from the approved schedule, which leads to accumulation of waste at container sites and adjacent territories, the formation of illegal landfills, and thus worsens the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the city. In accordance with sanitary norms and rules, waste should not be kept at the place of collection for more than 24 hours, and in Uzhgorod this term has been repeatedly violated since mid-July.
The owner of garbage containers is also obliged to do washing and disinfection – in the summer at least once every 10 days, but in Uzhgorod this cleaning is not carried out. Vehicles that collect garbage are currently in poor technical and sanitary condition.
The leadership of the Uzhgorod City Council sent the head of AVE Umwelt Ukraine Ltd. in Lviv a letter, which states these facts, that the failure to comply with the terms of the agreement concluded with the AVE Uzhgorod, sanitary norms and rules has led to deterioration of life and health of people in the city.
The appeal states that in accordance with one of the clauses of the contract, all deficiencies in solid domestic wastes removal must be rectified within 15 days. If the violations are not rectified, the executive committee of the Uzhgorod City Council will take steps to early terminate the agreement on the provision of services with the AVE Uzhgorod LLC.
