Grezsa says the information about the Hungarian ministry for Transcarpathia is absurd

István Grezsa is only a representative of the minister, and not the government. There is no separate ministry for Transcarpathia, Hungarian media write.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine invited Csaba Laszlo Pap, the Charge d’Affaires of Hungary to Ukraine, to protest the appointment of Istvan Gresza as the representative for Transcarpathia and the statements of the Prime Minister Viktor Orban regarding the unrealistic intentions of Ukraine to become a member of NATO and the European Union.

The politician said that he had been appointed only as the representative of the minister Zsolt Shemien, who is in charge of national politics, religious affairs and Hungarian minorities abroad. Accordingly, he will be coordinating the further development of Transcarpathia in various spheres. You can read about this at www.kozlony.magyarorszag.hu.

"There is no separate ministry for Transcarpathia, I don’t know where this absurd information came from," – Hungarian media reported.

Kyiv demanded from Hungary immediate explanations regarding the appointment of Istvan Gresza. Ukrainian Ministry believes that this is a direct interference in Ukraine’s internal affairs. The Foreign Ministry protests against the "unfriendly actions" of Budapest regarding Ukraine. The Ministry believes that Hungary must stop these actions because they negatively affect the bilateral relations of the two neighboring states.

The Foreign Ministry noted that Viktor Orban’s statements about the unrealistic prospects of Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the EU show that Hungary has chosen a path of confrontation rather than mutually beneficial cooperation.

Recall that earlier, István Grezsa already commented on the information of the Ukrainian media about his appointment as the minister’s representative for Transcarpathia.
