Uzhgorod law enforcement officers quickly detained the persons, who had stolen cash from an Uzhgorod resident

The police initiated an investigation over illegal appropriation of someone else’s property. The suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine

A 35-year-old resident of Uzhgorod appealed to the police with a statement about the crime. The man reported that an unknown person, taking advantage of the moment when he was distracted, had stolen from his bag about 8 thousand hryvnias.

At the scene, officers of the criminal police department together with investigators and patrol policemen found out that two Uzhgorod citizens were involved in the crime. The police found a 25-year-old and a 21-year-old local residents with real evidence of their involvement. Some of the money was seized from the suspects.

The police opened a criminal proceeding under Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspects in the crime were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. They were send to a temporary detention facility. The investigation continues.
