Today, July 28, officers of the Transcarpathian Department of the Police Internal Security together with the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, in the framework of an initiated criminal proceeding, recorded the receipt of unlawful benefit in the amount of 11.5 thousand hryvnias by an officer of the Khust police department. Police officers found out that the man received the money from a local resident for releasing her grandson from responsibility for theft.
A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining of undue advantage by a person who holds a responsible position). The law enforcement officer is to be detained and notified of being suspected. The Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region has initiated an official investigation.
The Transcarpathian police will continue detecting and documenting the unlawful actions of their officers. Everyone, whose guilt is proved, will be held responsible according to the current legislation, the press service of the regional police reported.
