Transcarpathians in the Bosphorus

Today, a mass swim across the Bosphorus took place in Istanbul. All the participants had to swim the distance of 6.5 kilometers.

Among the 2400 participants, there were two Transcarpathians – Olesya Chyipesh from Uzhgorod and Galina Terpyak from Tyachiv.

Olesya Chyipesh told the journalist the Internet-publication "PMG.ua" about the swim itself, as well as about the preparations for the main competition of 2018.

"My husband and I were preparing for exactly six months. Before this, we did not swim at all. Other people were rather skeptical about our adventure, and few believed that we would do it. Especially myself. But, supporting each other, we were training. I am very happy to have taken part and successfully finished the distance. I would like amateur sports in Transcarpathia to develop better. But this is another story for another time. And if someone decides to take part next year, I will gladly help and support. Because the Bosphorus is not that scary," – Olesya Chyipesh said.
