The National Bank found illegal currency exchange points in Transcarpathia

In the first half of 2018, the National Bank of Ukraine carried out 506 inspections of the structural units of non-bank financial institutions (NFIs) on compliance with the procedures for the organization and implementation of currency-exchange transactions.

39 illegal currency exchange points were detected during the inspections of legal currency exchange points. Transcarpathian region is one of those where violations were found. And although the press office of the National Bank has not specified the exact number of illegal currency exchange offices found in the region, their addresses and photos will soon be published on the site of the NBU.

 Note that during the inspection, the regulator found the following deficiencies: failure to provide documents at the written request of an authorized employee of the NBU, the exchange of currencies without documentary registration, the discrepancy between cash balances in the cash register and the documents.
