The Uzhgorod district police has started an investigation into an accident with a fatal outcome. Law enforcers have established the preliminary circumstances of the accident.
On the night of July 9, the police received a report about an accident in the village of Storozhnytsia, Uzhgorod district.
At the scene, law enforcement officers found out that around 00:20 in the village of Storozhnytsia, the driver of a Renault Kengoo, returning home from fishing trip, lost control and ran into a concrete support. The car overturned several times.
The 40-year-old driver of a vehicle – a resident of the village of Bile in Kharkiv region – died in the ambulance vehicle, and the passengers – a 32-year-old woman from the village of Storozhnytsia and a 30-year-old Kharkiv citizen – sufferred minor injuries and, after receiving medical care, left the hospital.
According to the passenger, the crew members had consumed alcohol, which could affect the driver’s reaction while driving the vehicle.
The police opened a criminal proceeding over the fatal accident under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The car was taken to the impound lot of the Uzhgorod police department. The investigation continues.
