In Uzhgorod, telephone scammers pose as employees of the prosecutor’s office

There have been reports that unidentified persons posing as prosecutors call local residents and ask to transfer money to their bank account.

At the moment, there have been several such cases of fraud.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region asks the public, business entities, heads of state authorities and local self-government to be careful, and in case of receiving information about such proposals, illegal actions on behalf of the employees of the regional prosecutor’s office, to immediately notify the prosecutor’s office of the region by calling the hotline (0312) 61-35-60 or by calling the National Police Department at 102.

Also, we remind you that there is a criminal liability for said illegal actions in accordance with Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud), the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region informs.
