The celebration of the New Police anniversary was spoiled by the “Carpathian Sich”

The birthday of the patrol police was celebrated in Uzhgorod. Exactly three years ago, patrol policemen appeared on the streets of Ukrainian cities.

On July 4, 2015, the new Ukrainian police took an oath. Kyiv became the first city, where they started working. For nearly a month the capital’s patrol policemen were working in a test mode, and subsequently such units were formed in other regions. In Transcarpathia, the first 247 patrol policemen took their oath on November 29, 2015.

Since then, the anniversary of the patrol police formation became the professional holiday for all police officers.

Today, during the celebration on Narodna square, Transcarpathian patrol policemen held entertainment games for children on traffic rules, showed special equipment used during the service, and also drove children in police cars.

Meanwhile, a group of people came to the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region together with the head of the NGO "Carpathian Sich" Taras Deyak. So far, it is quiet, but they are demanding to talk with the management.
The participants of the action say that they came to the police office because of corruption in law enforcement agencies. Also, Taras Deyak complains about other activists that he has been openly in conflict with since March this year.

It should be noted that the head of the NGO "Carpathian Sich" Taras Deyak and two other persons were detained by the police in October last year for violations of public order in the center of Uzhgorod. Three knives were seized from them, and a criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the CCU, ie hooligan actions committed with the use of firearms or cold weapons. It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years. However, so far none of the persons invloved in the fight have been notified of being suspected.
