“Transit” prospects of Transcarpathia

The volume of rail transportation of goods and passengers through Transcarpathia will increase significantly, the publication Uzhgorod informs.

After the opening of the Beskydy tunnel, it is planned to significantly increase the volume of railway freight and passenger traffic through Transcarpathia to Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy.

The launch of the passenger train Mukachevo-Chop-Zahony-Budapest will allow passengers to get from the cities of Transcarpathia to the countries of the European Union without waiting for change of the wheelsets on the route chosen.

In addition, the railway company of Slovakia has considered the possibility of launching a train Uzhgorod-Kosice with extension to Bratislava and Prague.

Recall that a new railway train Mukachevo-Budapest will also be launched soon.

Such prospects open many opportunities for Transcarpathia.
