A woman of Roma nationality was killed in Beregovo. Police say they do not link the murder with racial discrimination

Officers of the Transcarpathian police have not found motives related to gender, racial or other discrimination in the murder of a Roma woman in Beregovo.

According to the communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police, officers of the Beregovo department, together with the colleagues from the Main Office of the National Police in the region, are identifying the persons involved in the murder of a young woman.

On July 1, the police received a report about the an unconscious woman had been found on one of the streets of Beregovo. She was taken by an ambulance, but they failed to save her life. According to local media, the attack on the Roma woman occurred on the territory of the depot.

The police reported that the wound had been found on the neck of the 30-year-old resident of Beregovo. The police opened a criminal proceeding over an accident under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional murder.
