In Transcarpathia, 137 refugees and persons in need of additional protection are registered with the Migration Service, Olga Posttak, the chief public relations specialist of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, reported. In recent years, there has been a decrease in the number of appeals for protection in Ukraine in our region. While in 2015, there were 110 such appeals, in 2017 there were only 34. Since the beginning of this year, 4 asylum seekers (DR Congo, Belarus, Syria, Sri Lanka) have appealed to the Department for Protection and Social Integration Seekers of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
At the moment, 78 people, including 26 children, live in the temporary center for refugees.
