In the village of Bukovynka in Mukachevo district, three children toppled marble vases, flowers, lanterns in the village cemetery. The police began an investigation into this incident.
Yesterday, at about 21.00, a resident of the village of Bukovynka in Mukachevo district reported to the police that unknown vandas had damaged monuments in the cemetery.
At the scene, the police investigation team found out the circumstances and identified the persons involved in the offense. Three local children, aged 7 and 8, were playing in the cemetery with no adult supervision. The children admitted that they had toppled marble vases on the monument and scattered wreaths and lanterns on the graves.
The police began an investigation under Part 1 of Art. 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, desecration of graves. However, the criminal proceeding will be closed due to the young age of the children involved in the offense. The police will talk with the parents of the young schoolchildren and bring them to administrative responsibility for the failure to perform parental duties.
