This year “Uzhgorod regatta” will be held on July 29 (ANNOUNCEMENT)

This was reported by the organizers of the regatta, which is traditionally held in Uzhgorod in the summer.

This year "Uzhgorod regatta", which is a a fun sports competition in the form of rafting down the Uzh river on boats of various designs, will take place on Sunday, July 29. The start is at the beach near the Pidzamkovy bridge (right bank). The finish is behind the Masaryk Bridge (left bank).

Any non-motorized floating crafts – boats, inflatable boats, rafts, etc. – are invited to participate. Home-made designs, original decor and costumes are welcomed. The number of crew members is not limited, but the "ship" must finish with a full crew.

Following the regatta, the winners in the following nominations will be awarded: "Flying Dutchman" (the fastest ship), "Jolly Roger" (the most original ship), "Black cuttlefish" (the fastest ship among homemade ones), "Noah’s Ark" (the largest crew).

"Uzhgorod Regatta" is not limited to the race. At the finish, various competitions and contests will be conducted.

The first regatta took place on July 11, 2010. According to the rating of the 2010 tourist season from the Tourinfocenter Transcarpathia, "Uzhgorod Regatta" won in the category "Best Tourist Animation 2010".
