The investigating judge of Uzhgorod city and district court considered the petition of law enforcement officers regarding the extension of the term of detention for a minor suspected of murder. This was informed by the press service of the court.
The investigative judge heard the arguments of the parties and took into account the gravity of the incriminated crime. Therefore, to ensure the proper procedural behavior of the suspect, it was decided to extend the term of detention until July 2, 2018.
By the way, 20 days before the expiry of the term of detention imposed by the regional Court of Appeal, Uzhgorod city and district court received a petition from the prosecutor’s office regarding the extension of the detention term. However, during the preparation of the petition, the law enforcement officers committed a gross violation of the procedural law, which made it impossible to consider the said petition. Thus, according to the court ruling of April 27, the case was returned to the prosecutor’s office to rectify the violation.
Currently, the term of the pre-trial retraint has been extended and the murder suspect will be kept in custody until July 2 of the current year.
Recall that this is the teenager who killed his peer. Because of non-compliance with the rules of staying under house arrest by the suspect, residents of the village blocked the street. Later, he was sent for psychological examination, but journalists suspect that he was in a regular hospital.
