Tomorrow, on May 3, in Bratislava, there will be negotiations on the agreement on the provision of airspace and operation of the international airport "Uzhgorod", – the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure for European Integration Viktor Dovhan reported in his Facebook page.
Recall that the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Slovak Republic on the transfer of responsibility for the provision of air traffic services and on operation of the "Uzhgorod" International Airport" expired on July 16, 2016, and the "Uzh\ghorod" International Airport stopped taking regular flights.
The Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan during his last visit to Transcarpathia noted that "thePresident of Ukraine set a clear task – have the airport "Uzhgorod" fully operational by the end of 2018". At the moment, the UkSATSE is making every effort to ensure that the airport has modern and safe equipment. Uzhgorod Airport must be ready for winter navigation from the autumn of 2018 to winter of 2019. We hope that there will be a professional airport team here."
At the same time, the head of Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal said that he hopes for the effective work of the Ministry of Infrastructure for re-opening of the "Uzhgorod" International Airport: "But at the same time, we are looking for an opportunity to attract investors from neighboring countries of the European Union that can take our airport under concession agreement and use modern navigation equipment from the territory of the EU, adjacent to Transcarpathia".
