On April 15, the servicemen of the reformed department of the Border Guard Service "Velyky Berezny" of the Chop detachment began to perform their duties.
In order to implement the Concept of the Development of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and in order to improve the system of state border guarding, the structure of the unit was changed and brought to a new organizational level.
From now on, the department "Velyky Berezny" will include five B-type border guard units: "Verkhovyna Bystra", "Stuzhytsia", "Knyahynya", "Novoselytsia", "Velyky Berezny" and an A-type border guard unit: "Maly Berezny".
The main tasks assigned to the structural subdivisions within the department will be delimited. Thus, the personnel of the B-type border guard unit will be protecting the green border areas assigned to them, the A-type border guard unit will be responsible for the implementation of border control at the checkpoint "Maly Berezny-Ubl’a". The new management structure ensures more efficient and rational use of forces and means to improve the security of the border. The department "Velyky Berezny" is the first in the Chop border guard detachment, which has undergone changes in the staff structure.
It is planned to modernize in the same way two other departments of the detachment – "Uzhgorod" and "Chop", which will cover the entire area of responsibility of the Chop detachment.
