Today, unfortunately, all roads in Transcarpathia, which lead to the border crossings with Hungary, are in extremely bad state and pose a serious danger to all road users, the MyHungary.Net informs.
And this problem arose not today and not yesterday. Back in 2016, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis demanded more money for road repairs.
On this occasion, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Regional Council have repeatedly appealed to the leaders of the state and the government of Ukraine, but there has been no positive developments in this issue. In 2016, Hungary decided to allocate 50 million euros to Ukraine for the construction of the road Beregovo-Mukachevo. "Hungary is ready to provide 50 million euros to implement this project," – the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto said at the briefing with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv.
And during the second plenary meeting of the tenth session of the Regional Council of the VІІ convocation, the deputies adopted an appeal to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on urgent financing of major repairs of public roads. The document states: "Today, as never before, the state of roads, the road and transport infrastructure as well as border infrastructure play an important role, especially in the border regions, where it is extremely important for the socio-economic development of the region."
The initiator of this appeal was the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal. The sections of the roads, which are proposed to be repaired are: "Beregovo – Vynogradiv – V. Kopanya" (49.5 km long); "Mukachevo – Beregovo – checkpoint "Luzhanka" (37.5 km long); "Checkpoint "Solomonovo" – V.Dobron – Yanoshi to the checkpoint "Kosyno" (59,6 km long); "Checkpoint "Vylok"- the village of Vylok – Nevetlenfolu – checkpoint "Dyakovo" (20.7 km long).
