The main musical holiday – the International Festival "Music Without Borders" – will take place in Uzhgorod for the sixth time. Launched by the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic in 2012, every time, it pleases music lovers with interesting events. The main idea of the festival is in its title: during the festival, music of all eras, styles, genres, and forms dominates on the main stage of the region. So, from 11 to 29 of April, the Great Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic again will be filled with the "Music Without Borders".
And the festival will be opened by the Song and Dance Ensemble "Podillya" of the Vinnytsia Regional Philharmonic. The concert program "The Cossack Country" will include the best examples of folk art of their region – songs and dances in different genres, humorous scenes and pictures of the life of Podillya village. The beginning is at 18.30.
The Song and Dance Ensemble "Podillya" was founded in 1944. Its programs feature historical dumas, Cossack, chumak songs, dances, humorous scenes, common and ritual lyrics.
Since 1996, Anatoly Kondyuk, the Honored Artist of Ukraine, has been the Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer of the Song and Dance Ensemble "Podillya". The main choirmaster is the Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktor Volkov, the head of the orchestra is Volodymyr Pyrih.
