Potpourri of golden fairy tales – “Lives of Dolls”

On March 25, the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theater invites its audience to the concert – a potpourri of golden fairy tales from the repertoire – "Lives of Dolls", which was prepared on the occasion of two professional holidays – World Puppetry Day and World Theater Day.

The idea of ​​this holiday was suggested by the famous puppetry figure Javad Zolfaghari (Iran). In 2000 at the XVIII Congress of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette, (UNIMA) in Magdeburg, he made the proposal for discussion. Two years later, at a meeting of the International Council of UNIMA in June 2002 in Atlanta, the date of the celebration was identified – March 21. The holiday this year is celebrated for the fifteenth time.

Traditionally, the All-Ukrainian NGO "Ukrainian Center for the International Union of Puppet Theater Workers UNIMA-Ukraine" (the main office is located in France) announces the winners of the All-Ukrainian Review-Competition "Premieres of the Season".

This time, 20 puppet theaters of Ukraine took part in the competition presenting 25 premieres of the 2016-2017 season.

 This year, the UNIMA-UKRAINE delegates gathered on March 19 in the city of Zhytomyr. The events were also attended by members of the Transcarpathian branch of the UNIMA – the chief director of the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Puppet Theater, Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalia Oreshnikova and the dramaturg of the theater, theater historian Nina Malyshka.

Transcarpathian delegates brought home four diplomas: the performance "Dyed fox" won in the nomination "The best performance for school-age children", and the diplomas "For debut" were awarded to Olena Bugrenkova – for the scenography in the performance "Magic words", Yuriy Zub – for making masks in the performance "Dyed fox", and Vasyl Malyshka – for writing poems in the performance "Dyed fox".

So, on Sunday, the Transcarpathian puppeteers will celebrate their two professional holidays, which they will happily share with their audience.
