Since the beginning of the year, the Transcarpathian tax police has confiscated 17.5 million hryvnias worth of tobacco products

Since the beginning of 2018, the operation department of the State Fiscal Service in Transcarpathian region has discontinued 7 instances of illicit production and trade of excisable goods, and found one underground shop for the manufacture of counterfeit alcohol products.

In particular, employees of the tax police, during January-February this year, seized almost UAH 20 million worth of excisable goods. Among the seized goods, there were almost 639 thousand packs of tobacco products worth more than UAH 17.5 million; 2000 l of alcoholic beverages worth more than UAH 320 thousand; 6 vehicles worth more than UAH 1.5 million.

During the specified period, according to the materials of the operational units, 4 criminal proceedings were registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods.

It is worth noting that the tax police of SFS units in the region have clear areas of activity and operate exclusively within the limits defined by the legislation.
