On February 17, the Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater will enter into a new stage of its activities in the capital of Carpatho-Ukraine – the city of Khust. The newly-formed theater will present the premiere performance "Natalka Poltavka" based on the play by Ivan Kotlyarevsky with music by Mykola Lysenko. The highlights of the premiere are original arrangements, set design and costumes. The beginning of the performance is at 17.00.
– The tickets for the show have been long sold out, – Hennadiy Moskal, who initiated the relocation of the regional theater to Khust, said. – There are so many people, who want to see "Natalka Poltavka", that there will be another show on Sunday, February 18, and on the next weekend. And then the Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater will come to Uzhgorod and will perform for the audience of the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after the Sherehiy brothers.
Recall that after the Mukachevo City Council seized the building of the Transcarpathian Regional Drama and Comedy Theater, the regional theater moved from Mukachevo to Khust, to the former building of the district house of culture in the very center of the city (by the way, this room is much more spacious than the theater in Mukachevo).
This year, at the expense of the State Fund for Regional Development and the local budget, major repairs will be carried out there with the modernization of the hall, orchestra pit, administrative buildings, etc. The fact of the regional theater relocation to Khust will give a powerful impetus to cultural development of this city.
