Transcarpathian customs officers seized a MERCEDES-BENZ and 630 packs of cigarettes

An attempted illegal export of tobacco products from Ukraine was stopped at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs. A citizen of Ukraine tried to smuggle cigarettes in a car "MERCEDES-BENZ" with Polish registration.

The citizen chose "green corridor" for customs clearance and, during oral questioning, denied having any goods, including those subject to declaration, and said that he was not carrying any goods hidden from customs control.

Based on signs of presence of specially manufactured caches in the vehicle, customs officers decided to conduct an in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle. Thus, in a specially made cache, in the bottom of the car, the customs officers found 630 packs of cigarettes hidden from the customs control. All the found the cigarettes were domestically produced, with excise stamps of Ukraine, brand "Rothmans". The value of the found cigarettes is more than 16,000 hryvnias.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches.

These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods, that are direct objects of the violation of customs regulations, and the vehicle with specially manufactured caches used to conceal goods were seized.
