On February 1, the famous composer, choir conductor and teacher, the honored figure of the arts of Ukraine, Vasyl Haiduk, turned 80 years old. However, the venerable age did not affect the artist: he is still working fruitfully, writing music, preparing premiere of his own works. He has composed many chamber pieces, over one hundred interpretations of Transcarpathian folk songs and a whole layer of spiritual music – cantata "The Epistle" to the lyrics of T. Shevchenko, Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, poem-cantata "Days are Passing", numerous choral concerts, etc.
On February 8, in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic you will be able to listen to some of the works of Vasyl Haiduk and cogratulate him. The Honored academic Transcarpathian folk choir (artistic director – Honored worker of culture of Ukraine Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk), the chamber orchestra of the Philharmonic (leader – Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladislav Yurosh), Olesya Haiduk (organ), Victor Telychko (piano), Larusa Golubeva (piano) will take part in the concert.
Solos will be performed by People’s Artist of Ukraine Petro Matiy, Honored Artist of Ukraine Yana Sadvariy, Yustina Didyk, Myroslava Kopynets, Ivan Shumsky, Mykhailo Podkopayev, etc.
