Border guards of the Chop detachment together with officers of the fiscal service prevented smuggling of cigarettes across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
Thus, yesterday, at the checkpoint "Tisa", during the inspection of a truck "Scania" with Hungarian registration, law enforcement officers found a batch of tobacco products in the double bottom of the truck. A Hungarian citizen put on the cigarette cache 60 barrels of honey, 300 kilograms each.
After the arrival of special equipment, the vehicle was unloaded and, as a result, the exact number of the tobacco products was established, which amounted to almost 26 thousand packs of contraband cigarettes.
Currently, the value of the found cigarettes is being established. After that, a report on the violation of customs rules will be drawn up. The semi-trailer was sealed and taken to the in-depth inspection box, the truck and the driver are at the impound lot.
