Ukrzaliznytsya not only shuffles trains, but also sells fuel

As reported by the Uzhgorod.in, the Ukrzaliznytsya continues to shuffle the trains, that connect our region with the rest of the country, to Transcarpathians’ dismay.

But, it turns out, employees of the "Ukrzaliznytsya" PJSC also still steal diesel fuel from the enterprise.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, officers of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, together with officers of the Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the region and the Department of Internal Security of the "Ukrzaliznytsya" PJSC caught one of the leaders of a criminal group on selling 10 thousand liters of stolen fuel. It was established that the organizer of the said illegal activity is the head of the Chop rotating depot of the Ukrainian Railways, who controlled the whole process. Other depot workers were involved in the criminal activity.

A group of 4 people headed by the Chop rotating depot of the Ukrainian Railways are suspected of organizing the appropriation of the company’s property, in particular, fuel and lubricants (diesel fuel) from the depot reservoirs and the sale thereof on the territory of the region (Part 4 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – appropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property by means of abuse of office, committed in large amounts, punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with deprivation og rights to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years).

This criminal activity was covered by law enforcement officers who are currently being identified.
