On Wednesday, January 24, at the InterContinental Hotel in Paris, there was a tripartite meeting of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Pavlo Klimkin, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and the US Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Mitchell Wess, the Magyaridok.hu reported.
The parties discussed complex issues regarding the Ukrainian law on education.
After the meeting, Szijjarto spoke to the journalists:
"The Americans are interested in resolving the conflict situation between Ukraine and Hungary due to the law on education. They look at it from the point of view of geopolitics, and the Hungarian government sees the advantage in that the US are not interested in exacerbating relations between Ukraine and Hungary."
As we reported, Hennadiy Moskal, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, analyzing the Concept of reforming the broadcasting in languages of national minorities on the public TV and radio, warns about possible conflicts between Ukraine and its neighbors – EU countries, especially Hungary, due to the language issue.
