On the eve of Christmas, a terrible crime was committed in Mukachevo: a young man, who was going home, was stabbed in the hallway of a high-rise building, he bled to death in his mother’s arms…
Today, the police reported on the first results of the investigation. The Communication Department of Transcarpathian regional police informs:
On January 5, around 23.55, the police received a report from a resident of an apartment building on Sandor Petofi street in the city of Mukachevo about a fight in the hallway of the house.
The police found on the staircase on the second floor of the house the body of a young man with obvious signs of violent death. The victim was a 27-year-old resident of the same building. The young man died on the spot from numerous stab wounds.
As a result of operative and search measures, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Transcarpathian regional police, together with the Mukachevo criminal block police officers, identified the person involved in the commission of the murder.
The suspect was a 26-year-old resident of the city of Mukachevo. As the police found out, the man had inflicted lethal knife injuries on the victim’s vital organs on the ground of jealousy.
The detainee was notified about being suspected of murder (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court imposed on him a pre-trial restraint – detention for up to 60 days.
The investigation continues.
