A hundred years ago, locomotives from France were running on the Borzhava railway

Passengers of the Borzhava Railroad in Transcarpathia in 1910 were riding in trains made by Hungary and France.

The users of the Transcarpathian Heritage community posted on Facebook a very interesting and archival photo.

The authors, describing the photo, specify that the main locomotive in the picture is the product of the Hungarian factory Ganz & Cie with De Dion-Bouton double vertical boiler, which was manufactured in France.

– The light motrice on the left in the photo is a steam motrice with a vertical boiler jointly manufactured by the Hungarian factory Ganz and the French company De Dion-Bouton. In 1908, five such motrices numbered BGV 1-5 were delivered to the Borzhava railway. The seating places were of I and III classes (7 and 14 seats, respectively) – the description of the picture reads.
