Transcarpathia forests

The second forest management meeting took place in the conference hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Forest and Hunting Range Administration. 

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to forest management in Transcarpathian region, reviewed the forestry development plans in the region for the next year, which are projected in the forest management materials. The meeting was held with the participation of Igor Kotsur, the first deputy head – chief forester of Transcarpathian region.

 Forest management is a complex of measures for the organization of forestry, aimed at obtaining the characteristics of the forest fund and ensuring non-exhausting use of forest resources, their reproduction and increase of forest productivity. Forest management is carried out by a specialized civil service in accordance with the sectoral regulations.

The participants of the meeting also talked about the work of the "Forest Manager" program, which allows you to create plans for allocation of cutting lines; to accumulate information about the allocated areas, which allows to avoids errors with adjacent areas; to control the timing and define the best cutting options; to search for information from the survey description and display it on a map. 

It can be used for selection of plots for cutting. They also talked about the use of the space images "Google Maps" with the map of the forest fund in Transcarpathia, which would allow to reveal inaccuracies and other shortcomings in cartographic materials; to build various map-diagrams depending on production needs; to add to survey plots any information on the need of forest management measure or other information.

 The benefits of the program are that the mobile app called "The Forester" allows you to view the taxation characteristics and get information about the location of the user right in the forest.
