Despite the flood, because of which classes in schools and kindergartens were canceled in Mukachevo, today on the central square of the city, on the eve of St. Nicholas Day, the Christmas tree was solemnly opened. Together with the mayor Andriy Baloha, it was lit by Victoria Kozyk, a student of the school 11, a multiple participant and a winner of the International Ukrainian language contest, holder of the city council scholarship.
The schoolgirl was chosen through an online voting among gifted and talented children of the city.
Prior to this, a fascinating mass spectacle took place on the central square of the city – the young talents of the city presented a magnificent themed concert with songs and dances.
The city mayor Andriy Baloha addressed the residents and guests of the city with a speech. All the children present at the grand opening of the Christmas tree received sweet gifts from Mikolajczyks.
