The salary to educators of Volovets district has finally been transferred. This was reported by activists in social networks.
"Today, public sector employees gathered near the police post in Nyzhni Vorota in Volovets district (Kyiv-Chop highway) to protest about their wage arrears, which has been lasting for more than 3 months.
The head of the district state administration Valentina Rogova, who arrived with the chairman of the district council Ivan Lopit, said that at the end of the day the funds in the total amount of more than 5 million hryvnias had been transferred to the treasury account of the district and provided a copy of the confirmatory letter. That is, she promised that tomorrow, during the day, the entire salary up to December 1 would be transferred to the accounts of all employees of district educational institution," – the report states.
"Therefore, more than 50-70 protesters – workers and teachers of village kindergartens and schools, together with public activists – decided to give the district authorities the opportunity to fullfil the promise of actual debt repayment tomorrow. At the same time, they warned the officials that if people do not receive the salary in full tomorrow by 5:00 pm, they would start a more massive protest than that on December 7."
Recall that on December 7, the workers of the medical and educational spheres of Volovets district blocked the road as a protest against arrears of wages for the past 2-3 months.
Later, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal stated that the blocking of the international highway "Kyiv – Chop" in Volovets district had been caused by miscalculations of the Government when making the budget for 2017.
