Police officers quickly solved an attempted murder in the village of Velyki Luchky in Mukachevo district, where a man inflicted knife wounds to two persons.
Today, October 26, Transcarpathian police detained a 35-year-old man previously convicted for murder, who had stabbed two people with a knife. Law enforcement officers found out that at about 20.00 on Wednesday, four men were resting near the village of Velyki Luchky. Then the company decided to go to the village center in a car VAZ-2109, and a conflict arose between the driver and a passenger, which escalated into an armed brawl.
"The company did not want to drive one of the men to his place. The latter tried to persuade them and even offered to give them some of the mushrooms that he had gathered in the morning. The driver refused the passenger, got out of the car, opened the rear door and asked him to leave. The suspect took a knife and began stabbing his opponent in the chest. One of the passengers tried to stop the fight and also got two wounds in the chest. Another passenger of the car witnessed all that", – Volodymyr Maha, the head of the division for investigation of crimes committed against human life and health of the investigation department of Transcarpathian regional police said.
The victims were taken to the Mukachevo district hospital, one of them is in a serious condition, the other’s life is not in danger. The attacker was found in a few hours, law enforcement officers quickly established all the circumstances of the incident, questioned the witnesses. A 21 cm long blade was seized from the attacker.
The suspect was arrested in acordance with Art. 208 of the CCP of Ukraine and put in a temporary detention facility. A criminal proceedings over the incident has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 15 – Part 2 of Para. 1 of Art. 115 of the CCU, that is, attempted murder. The choice of a preventive measure is being decided.
