The professor of UzhNU died on Friday, at the age of 82.
He was born on February 7, 1936, in the village of Bedevlya, in Tyachiv district.
Mykhailo Tyvodar graduated from Tyachiv high school, and in 1958 – from the Faculty of History of Uzhgorod University.
He has been working at the Faculty of History of UzhNU since September 1966.
He was awarded with the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd Degree. He was elected a deputy of the regional council, headed the group "Democratic platform".
Mykhailo Tyvodar is the author of more than 100 scientific publications (including several monographs). He is the author of the only Ethnology textbook in Ukraine, and in particular: "Hutsul land: Historical and ethnographic research", "History of Uzhgorod", "Traditional cattle breeding of the Ukrainian Carpathians in the second half of the nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century: historical and ethnological research", "Transcarpathia: ethnography considerations".
This year he became the winner of the Petro Skunts Prize of Uzhgorod City Council.
The funeral service will be held in Uzhgorod, at the ritual hall of the city cemetery "Kalvaria" at 15.00.
