In Transcarpathia, 23 villages were left without electricity supply because of a strong wind

The storm that took place at night before Friday in Transcarpathia did not bring devastating consequences.

– The storm hit four mountain districts of the region – Rakhiv, Tyachiv, Mizhhirya and Velyky Berezny, – Hennadiy Moskal reported. – Fortunately, there have been no some serious consequences. In some places, roads were blocked by fallen trees, but the traffic was resumed within a few hours. In addition, squally wind damaged power lines, leaving 17 villages (7 in Mizhhirya district, 4 in Rakhiv district and Velyky Berezny district, and 2 in Tyachiv district) without power supply completely, and six other settlements – partially.

At present, 14 crews of power engineers are working on the elimination of the accidents, by the end of the day, power supply should be fully restored. Foresters are determining whether the bad weather has caused any serious damage to the forest industry.
