Yesterday, October 2, on the second day of the nationwide "Month of voluntary surrender of weapons", a resident of the village of Syurte in Uzhgorod district handed over to the police an unregistered hunting gun. The man explained to law enforcement officers that he had found the gun near the canal outside his village. He also said he wanted to register the gun after an appropriate check.
From October 1 to October 31, in Transcarpathian region, and throughout the country, the police is conducting a month of voluntary surrender of weapons. Citizens who voluntarily come to the National Police of Ukraine to surrender weapons, ammunition, explosive materials and special means that they have been keeping illegally, in accordance with Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine shall be exempt from criminal liability.
