The "102" service reported to the Mukachevo police department about an assault on two men. During a conversation with the police, the victims explained that a stranger had come up to them, first punched one and then another. When the men lost consciousness, he stole their phones and fled. Both victims were hospitalized at the Traumatological Department of the Mukachevo District Hospital with fractures.
The police identified the attacker. It was a previously convicted 38-year-old local resident. According to the suspect, the conflict between them arose because of insult.
According to the investigator of the Mukachevo police department Mykola Butash, a criminal proceeding over assault was opened under Part 1 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Robbery). The attacker was notified of being suspected. The mobile phones were seized and returned to the owners. After the pre-trial investigation, the case will be referred to the court. This offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 7 years.
