Slovakia nominated for the “Oscar” a Slovak-Ukrainian film “Border” that was shot in Transcarpathia

This was announced on September 20 by the Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rosenko on his Facebook page.

Thus, three films made with the participation of Ukraine will be presented at the prestigious movie award ceremony. From Ukraine – "Level of Black", from Lithuania – "Hoarfrost" about the ATO in the East of Ukraine, and from Slovakia – "Border".

Recall that "Border" this year already won a prize at the prestigious film festival in Karlovy Vary – "For the best directorial work".

"Border" is a criminal thriller, which was shot on the territory of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine – in particular, Transcarpathia.

The film is based on real events that took place at the Slovak-Ukrainian border in 2007, when Slovakia joined the Schengen zone.
